1. Rent a House on AirBnB or VRBO
Marfa is a place to be with friends and family, so renting a house is a good choice. Plus, it’s fun to stay in a renovated place with artsy minimalist decor. Marfa has many old adobe houses. I’ve stayed in the Pilgrim House and Ice House. Both were lovely. And, no, I’m not getting any kickback for sharing.

Hotel Paisano was part of a chain of hotels to encourage tourism within proximity of El Paso (along with the Gage Hotel in Marathon, Holland Hotel in Alpine, Hotel El Capitan in Van Horn, and Hotel Paso del Norte in El Paso). Hotel Paisano is best known for hosting the cast of the 1955 film Giant, notably Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor, and James Dean. There is a Giant memorabilia room, Jett’s Grill restaurant and bar, and a beautiful fountain courtyard. Rates vary, but typically range from $140-$320 per night depending on the room and date. If they’re open, have a cocktail from the bar in the courtyard and enjoy a dinner at Jett’s Grill.
